Sony Music Publishing (SMP) has appointed Roslyn Pineda as President, Asia, effective immediately, taking over the role from longtime SMP Asia President Carol Ng, who will stay with the company until her planned retirement at the end of March this year.

In her new role, Pineda will oversee both creative and commercial operations across several Asian territories. She is tasked with strengthening relationships with clients and industry partners, while expanding global support for SMP songwriters throughout the region. Based in Hong Kong, she will report directly to Sony Music Publishing President, International, Guy Henderson.

Roslyn Pineda said, “I am thrilled to take on this leadership role at Sony Music Publishing Asia during such an exciting time for our industry and our region. I look forward to collaborating with our talented team and working closely with Guy Henderson and Jon Platt to empower our songwriters across Asia. Together, we will foster a vibrant, energetic environment that prioritizes creativity and innovation, ensuring that the voices of our creators are heard and celebrated. Keen to make great things happen!”

Pineda moves into the publishing division from Sony Music, where she most recently served as General Manager, Philippines, after previously holding the role of Vice President, Artist Relations & Business Development, Asia. Since 2001, she has worked with the record label in Hong Kong and earlier in the Philippines, collaborating with a diverse roster of Asian and Western artists, including John Mayer, F4, Leehom Wang, Jessi, Sekai No Owari, Ricky Martin, Alicia Keys, and One Direction. Beginning in late 2018, she led the reopening of SME’s Philippines office, signed Ben&Ben, SB19 and IV OF SPADES, oversaw the acquisition of the ABS-CBN music catalogue in 2024, and was honoured as Billboard Philippines’ first-ever Music Industry Executive of the Year in 2025. Prior to her career in music, Pineda started out in marketing at Unilever.

On the appointment of Roslyn Pineda as President, Asia, Sony Music Publishing President, International Guy Henderson said, “I am so pleased that Ros will take over the reins as President for SMP Asia, which is one of our most important and continuously expanding international regions. With Ros’s success in the artist development and creative space, as well as her experience of more than two decades in the music business, she brings a new focus to the region to further expand our business into the future.”

On the retirement of Carol Ng, Guy Henderson said, “Carol Ng has led our company in Asia with great distinction and success for many years. During her time, she expanded our business into new territories and established us as the leading publisher across the region. Her contributions have positioned our team for further growth, and we are incredibly grateful for all that he has done for the company.”

Carol Ng said: “Throughout all these years my team and I have had good synergies with each other, we have worked and built together the leading market position in the region. It has therefore been a difficult decision for me to retire but there is a time for everything. I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and a personal plan to gradually stay in the U.K.”

Ng first joined the company in 1998 as Finance and Admin Manager and was later promoted to CFO, Asia, then Regional MD Asia, before being named President, Asia in 2021. Since then, she has overseen the business across the Asian market, managing strategic expansion through the launch of multiple new offices in the region, including Jakarta, Indonesia in 2021, Bangkok, Thailand in 2025 and paving the way for Manila, The Philippines later this year.
